LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Families,
Thanks to all that participated in Bingo last Friday night. It was well attended and a fun event. Thanks to the PTO for sponsoring it and all of the parent volunteers donating their time. Just a reminder, there is no school Monday. It is an in-service day for the teachers. Please see my note below in regards to parents on campus.
Warm regards,
Patrick Eagle

Attendance this week: 95% (Last week also 95%.)

PTO UPDATE
Thanks to everyone who came out to BINGO night, it was a packed house and so much fun! A couple upcoming events are Snoopy Skate night on Saturday, April 20th and Field Day on Wednesday, June 5th! We will need many volunteers for Field Day so please reach out to Mika Holman if you would like to volunteer. Additionally, if you have any special skills or ideas for a station at Field Day let us know, the PTO has taken it over and want to make it a very fun day for the kids! We also have a Shop & Donate with Forni Farms & Nursery on Sunday, April 28th.

PARENTS ON CAMPUS

This week I sent the following message via Messenger:
One of the comments in Areas for Improvement on our Youth Truth Survey was that it seemed like there were different rules for different people when it came to entering campus. Our policy is that if you are on campus during school hours, 8:00-3:00, you need to check in at the office and get a Visitor Lanyard. Some students need parent assistance to get to class, we understand that, but what we’re saying is that you need to check in in order to do that. That way the policy is the same for everyone and it keeps our campus safer. If your child needs help carrying something to their classroom, please check in, or leave it in the office, and we’ll be sure it gets to them.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

A ‘NOTE’ FROM THE MUSIC TEACHER
Please help 4th-6th grade music students remember their instruments and their books and/or folders on their music day each week. Students may only forget their instrument twice in a trimester. If they forget a third time, I will need a parent’s note or email if the student wants to continue to be in the class. This policy is to help students to be successful, as every instrument is challenging to learn, and it is very difficult, if not impossible, to learn without the instrument in their hands. Some students need help to remember it each week. Here is an idea: set a phone alarm to go off before you walk out the door, and set it to play the sound of the student’s instrument!

4th-6th grade music students will have one or two performances in May, depending on which class they are in. Please keep an eye out for a flyer coming home soon with details! As always, help students remember to practice frequently. Ask them to play or sing you a song. Better yet, ask them to teach YOU how to play or sing a song. Teaching someone else can really help to reinforce what they are learning. Happy playing and singing!

PE WITH COACH BRE
We are underway in our volleyball unit. 3rd-6th graders did a vertical jump assessment this week. We did some plyometric exercises and will continue them for the next three weeks to increase our vertical jump. We will do the jump test again at the beginning of May in hopes of seeing some greater ‘hops.’ Please encourage your student to continue the exercises at home. Small added efforts at home will greatly increase their progress!
