LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
It’s hard to believe that we are heading into our last week of school. I’m so glad we’re able to finish with in-person learning. Our district is planning to return 100% full time next fall. Won’t that be fantastic? Special thanks to Bravo Restoration & Construction for donating several thousand dollars to enable every San Miguel student to receive a yearbook. See list of all the sponsors below.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
YEARBOOKS ARE IN
A huge thank you to Nicole Humber for putting together the yearbook. This was very challenging due to the fact we were only ‘in person’ school for a couple months. We very much appreciate all the time and effort it took to put it together. The books will be handed out next Wednesday. Every student will receive one due to the generosity of our sponsors:
R & D Machining
Fidelity National Title – Anthony Haberthur
Renew Day Spa
Reed Between the Lines Escape Rooms
Bravo Restoration & Construction
A special thank you to our past PTO board who made it through fires and a pandemic and did an absolutely awesome job!
President – Nicole Humber
Vice President – Sarah Harberthur
Treasurer – Carey Tubbs
Secretary – Jana Eliason (original) and Michelle Crosbie for taking over this year!
You ladies rock!
Message from the new PTO President:
Hi, I’m Cherie Piland, the new PTO President. Here is the rest of the team; Micaela Martin is the new Vice President, Alysia Murillo is the new secretary, Michelle Crosbie is the new Treasurer and James Griffin is the new Parliamentarian. We are all so excited to be on the PTO board and looking forward to this next school year. We are planning new fundraisers and events that will be fun and bring us all together as a community and school family. We are a fun group who all have kids at San Miguel and even work on campus. We are here to support every family and their children, so please reach out to the PTO with any questions or interest in participating and volunteering. We encourage and appreciate as much participation as possible.

CONSERVE WATER – DO YOUR PART
Drought is here. Save water! The Mark West Union School District has reduced outdoor irrigation by 60 percent to help save water. You, too, can help save water at home. Here are some tips: Reduce outdoor irrigation by one day a week or more; fix those leaks now; turn off the faucet when brushing teeth; use a car wash that recycles its water or just keep your car dirty! Please visit www.savingwaterpartnership.org for water saving tips and stay updated on drought conditions at www.sonomawater.org/drought.

GIRLS ON THE RUN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Girls on the Run is a wonderful program for girls that focuses on building friendships, getting exercise, confidence building, and community service. We’d like to have a program at San Miguel this fall, but we need coaches. Please see the links below for more details.

IS YOUR CHILD MISSING CLOTHING, A LUNCHBOX, OR A HELMET?
Yes, these are some of the items on the hooks in our Lost and Found area. If your child’s name had been written on a clothing tag or marked in their lunchbox, we would have been able to reunite them with their lost items. Unfortunately, this is not the case for most of the items. Those that have not been claimed by the final day of classes, June 4, will be donated to a local charity organization.
