LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families,

Most upper grade classes completed or got close to completing their State testing this week. The volleyball team played 3 games and completed their season on Friday.  And some other very important news, the baby chicks hatched in Kindergarten!

Warm regards,

Patrick Eagle

OPEN HOUSE 5/19

On Thursday, 5/19, San Miguel will host its first open house in two years. Due to Covid still lingering, the format will be a bit different. The first half of the student body (alphabetically by last name) A-L, will arrive first at 6:00 and then exit campus at 6:30. Next, M-Z will enter the campus at 6:45 and be here until 7:15. Please do not enter the campus until your designated time slot. Masks are encouraged. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

SPIRIT DAY 5/19

The San Miguel student council has set Thursday, 5/19, as Tourist Day. Encourage your child to dress like a tourist.

THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING

The Book Fair is coming to San Miguel during the week of 5/16. Students will visit the fair during their Library times that week. It will also be open during Open House on 5/19.

YEARBOOK SPONSORS

The yearbook is in desperate need of sponsors. The yearbook coordinator, Nicole Humber, has made it her mission to fund the yearbook so it comes to students at no cost. However, more sponsors are needed. Thank you to the following companies and families for donating to the yearbook so that each and every child can receive one.

Bravo Restoration & Construction

NorCal Truck Alignment

R&D Machining

Smile Orthodontics

Cherie Piland

Breanne Bush

Holly Soboweski

If you would like to contribute to the yearbook please do so via a check written to San Miguel PTO or Venmo @SanMiguelPTO.  All donations small or large are welcomed

A ‘NOTE’ FROM THE MUSIC TEACHER

A huge thank you to all the parents, students, and staff who came to the final performances of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade music students. We enjoyed playing for you at the LBC Farmer’s Market and at the school assembly. Bravo, musicians! Mrs. Kaufman looks forward to more music with you all next year and hopes even more students join us.

Look for Mrs. Kaufman at a recess near you, as she will be dropping by soon to play some music with you all for fun! Also, just a heads up…6th-grade students will soon be learning a song to sing for their promotion ceremony on the last day. See you soon at rehearsals!

PTO UPDATE

The PTO will be looking to fill the Vice President position for the next school year, 2022/2023. We will hold elections at the last general PTO meeting on 5/18/22. If you are interested in joining the PTO and would like to apply for the VP position, please contact Cherie Piland at cpiland@mwusd.org. All other positions currently are fulfilled. Thanks again for all your continued support to the PTO and San Miguel.

Sincerely,

Your SM PTO Board
